PEDAGOGY
As an educator and mentor, I am committed to equipping the next generation of justice-focused scholars and practitioners with the tools to think critically, engage ethically, and apply research to real-world challenges.

My approach is hands-on and discussion-driven, ensuring students can connect theory with practice. I create an inclusive learning environment where diverse perspectives are valued and aim to empower students to question, explore, and contribute to meaningful change.
I emphasize applied learning, incorporating case studies, media, policy analysis, and collaborative projects to bridge the gap between research and practice. Whether teaching research methods, policy, program evaluation, or criminological theory, I challenge students to think beyond the classroom—considering how their work can inform policy, shape public discourse, and drive systemic reform.
Beyond traditional instruction, I am deeply invested in mentorship and professional development, guiding students and early-career researchers as they navigate academia and applied research. I actively create opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience through internships, research assistant positions, and community-based projects, helping them build practical skills and professional networks.

By fostering critical inquiry, ethical research practices, and community-centered approaches, my goal is to inspire students to become thoughtful, engaged, and justice-driven changemakers who apply their knowledge to real-world impact.
